Chief Accountant

Job Description : CHIEF ACCOUNTANT TANZANIA Accounts, Audits, Tax planning. Tax Management & Statutory Tax compliance Preparing & maintaining books of accounts, fixed assets register & reconciliation statement in compliance with time norms. Performing bank activities, bank reconciliations & cash control etc. Examining and evaluating financial systems, management procedures and internal controls to ensuring that records are accurate and controls are adequate to safeguard against fraud/misrepresentations. Preparation of Vat Returns and miscellaneous other statutory returns. Preparation of monthly and yearly accounts, liaising with External Auditors for completion of yearly audit on timely basis. Preparation of monthly staff pay roll and administration of payment and pay roll related statutory deductions. Replaying to Tax queries raised by the concerned authorities. Debtors & Creditors Management: - Debtors Analyzing the debtor's balances to ensure that there are no unauthorized credits given to customers Ensuring that the outstanding are supported by Invoices, valid claims to ensure that there are no disputes in future Periodical reconciliation and obtaining joint signature to present accurate debtor's amount shown in the books Preparation of weekly Debtors list for submission to senior management. Creditors Ensuring payment to creditors as per contract, purchase order etc. Periodical reconciliation and obtaining joint signature to present accurate creditor's amount shown in the books. Working Capital Management Preparation of proposal for credit facility and liaison in seeking credit facility to the financial institutions. Preparation of application for letter of credits (irrevocable/stand by letter of credit) and making follow up with confirming and advising bank so as to have the workable LC in place on timely basis. Budgeting/ MIS/Costing & Internal Control Preparation of annual and monthly Budgets-Capex/Opex Preparation of MIS reports by 7th of the following month with a view to apprise management of the business operations and assist in decision making process. Putting up necessary controls in place to ensure the continued reliability of accounting systems Preparation of cost analysis Report include Production Cost Report for various types of PET bottle manufacturing machines Preparing cost analysis from stage of Resin drying and dehumidification, melting of resin and injection in to the mold, heating and placing the parison into a bottle-shaped mold & blowing the final bottle shape. Co-coordinating with external auditors for the completion of yearly audit on timely basis. Liaison with government department and company lawyers. Any other duty assign to you by the management time to time. Qualified CA/ICWAI with at least 10 years of experience in Accounts area Water Bottling /Beverage Industry, plastic manufacturing industry exposure will be given preference Excellent attention to detail. Ability to think creatively. Incisive and accurate judgment Mature, with outstanding communication and relationship management skills Results oriented and demonstrably commercial Well organized, disciplined, able to follow through Able to work across organization and cultural boundaries Team player, with an open non-political style and a high level of personal integrity High energy levels and ability to drill into the detail.
