Workshop Manager

Job Description : WORKSHOP MANAGER ZAMBIA ( EXPATS ONLY) a dynamic and experienced Workshop Manager to oversee the maintenance operations of their sugar cane farm. The Workshop Manager will play a crucial role in maintaining the agricultural tractors, implements, sales vans, and public service vehicles (PSVs), ensuring they are in optimal working condition to support their farm operations. Responsibilities: Manage and lead a team of 10-15 mechanics, providing guidance and supervision to ensure efficient and effective maintenance work. Develop and implement workshop systems and procedures to streamline maintenance processes and ensure consistent service quality. Oversee the maintenance and repair of agricultural tractors, implements, sales vans, and PSVs, ensuring they meet safety and performance standards. Work closely with the logistics and operations team to schedule and prioritize maintenance work, minimizing downtime and ensuring the smooth functioning of farm activities. Provide technical support and assistance in driver training programs, ensuring drivers are well-equipped to operate vehicles safely and efficiently. Foster a positive and inclusive work environment, embracing diversity and promoting collaboration among team members from different cultural backgrounds. Develop and manage the workshop budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources and adherence to financial constraints. Key Skills: Strong technical knowledge of agricultural tractors, implements, sales vans, and PSVs. Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team. Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on setting up efficient workshop systems. Comfortable working in remote environments and adaptable to varying cultural settings. Excellent communication and training skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information effectively. Qualifications: Proven experience as a Workshop Manager in an agricultural or related industry Relevant technical certifications or qualifications in mechanical engineering, vehicle maintenance, or a related field. Experience with Dezzi, Sonalika, Isuzu vehicles/tractors is ideal.
