Job Description : SUPPLY CHAIN DIRECTOR MALAYSIA ( OPEN TO EXPATS) One of the leading large retail consumer brands is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Supply Chain Director to be based in Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia. The job sits within the senior management team (SMT) and is entrusted with overseeing the budget and P&L of supply chain department. The primary responsibility lies in working hand in hand with customers to ensure on-time quality delivery. As the Supply Chain Director, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the supply chain, including demand and supply planning, replenishment, warehouse and distribution management. Your role will be critical in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of products from suppliers (inbound) to store (outbound), while optimising costs and enhancing overall supply chain performance (productivity). Develop and implement strategic supply chain plans and initiatives to support the company's growth objectives and meet customer demands Develop and execute effective distribution strategies to optimise product flow, minimise lead times, and reduce overall replenishment costs Manage warehouse operations, including layout design, inventory control, replenishment, and implementing best practices and/ or technology to maximise efficiency and accuracy Oversee fleet and transportation services, including managing fleet asset, optimising routes, and ensuring on-time deliveries while minimising costs Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure supply chain performance, identify areas for improvement, and drive continuous process enhancements Stay updated with industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory requirements to proactively identify risks and opportunities within the supply chain The successful candidate must possess leadership quality to command a medium-large sized retail operation with manpower exceeding 500 people (staff and contractors). You must have prior leadership experience in leading operations internally, be hands-on. Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field Proven experience (12 or more years) in supply chain management, preferably within the retail industry, with a focus on planning, distribution, warehouse management, and transportation Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams and drive change management initiatives In-depth knowledge of supply chain principles, best practices, and industry trends Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse complex data and make data-driven decisions Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders Proven track record of delivering results, meeting targets, and driving operational excellence within a large-scale supply chain environment This prominent large retail consumer brand has an outreaching reputation with strong market positioning in its segment within the retail segment.
