Job Description : PROCUREMENT HEAD ZAMBIA 15+ years experience Leading and coaching teams. Hands-on experience in executing contracts and entering into commercial transactions for the procurement of goods and services. Provide process support to ensure efficient and responsive purchasing and services. Understanding of commercial aspects of contracts. Monitor contract compliance and expiration dates. Budgeting and cost control. Knowledge of indirect taxation. Knowledge of the SAP MM module. Material Planning, Sourcing, and Vendor Development. Evaluation of vendors by facilitating the technical evaluation with the quality team, then selecting the vendors in the most cost-effective manner and finalising the contracts. Procurement of the raw materials as per the production schedules. Procurement for the indirect items as per production plans, including imports. Handling inbound logistics. Issue resolution and complaint handling with internal customers as well as suppliers. Cost reduction and improvement of value engineering. Price Negotiation and Price Variation Analysis. Operation/Project Budget, Preparation of Estimates, and Tender Document Preparation. Monitoring off-shore supplies, customs, and logistics to ensure timely delivery of the material on site and to avoid detention or demurrage. Any other work assigned to you on a time-to-time basis. Competencies and Experience: Should have worked on Contracts Finalisation and execution of contracts. Have experience with FIDIC (preferred). Should have experience or exposure to mining industry, power plant, manufacturing, or infrastructure projects, with an emphasis on materials, procurement, and/or logistics management. Good negotiation and communication skills. Financial aptitude and data analytics skills. Commercial awareness. Continuous improvement of internal systems and processes. Adapting and responding to change. Planning and organising. Deciding and initiating action. results-oriented, driving a high-performance culture. Experience with international procurement and global supply chains. Proven experience in procurement and contract management, preferably in the mechanical or engineering industry. Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and technical specifications. Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. Proficient in procurement software and tools. Reporting details: Reports to: Head Commercial Coal, MCL Subordinates: 1-2 members in his team.
