Project Manager

Job Description : Project Manager DRC Experience: 15 years’ experience in the smelting business – with experience at a managerial level. Job Summary: The job entails working on plant site with local teams to coordinate project activities, to guide all teams with technical know-how and complete the project in time with industry leading standards and practices. Lead the projects team, to implement and manage all programs, on-site. Roles & Responsibilities: Develop comprehensive project plans, considering the specific requirements of submerged arc furnace production for silicon metal. Collaborate with stakeholders to define project goals and deliverables, leveraging your experience in handling projects from inception to production. Oversee day-to-day activities, ensuring projects are executed seamlessly from project initiation to plant operation. Utilize your expertise to identify and rectify design defects in collaboration with furnace providers. Ensure budget and project timelines Efficiently allocate resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, drawing on your experience in erecting and commissioning silicon metal plants above 25 MVA. Ensure effective use of resources by monitoring usage as well as verifying BOQs and bills. Facilitate effective communication between internal teams, contractors, and external stakeholders, showcasing your ability to run and commission multiple silicon metal projects. Enforce stringent quality control measures, leveraging your insight to identify design defects in furnace equipment. Contribute valuable insights to project development, drawing on your in-depth knowledge of electrode management and silicon metal furnace operations. Stay abreast of the latest technology and automation trends in smelting processes, ensuring their integration for optimal furnace performance. Demonstrate a successful track record by commissioning the plant, showcasing your proficiency in and experience in large-scale projects. Transition the project into an operational plant with envisaged production and head the plant operations. Utilize your sound knowledge of erection, supervision, and toolbox auditing, adhering to stringent safety norms required for large furnaces. Qualification, Experience & Skills Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Electrical knowledge is an added advantage. Proficient in project management tools and software Experience: Proven experience in submerged arc furnace production of silicon metal. Extensive experience in handling projects from scratch to production, including plant operation. In-depth knowledge of electrode management, design defect identification, and the latest technology in furnace operations. Successful commissioning experience of at least three silicon metal plants above 25 MVA. Skills: Agile, action-oriented, self-starter, decision-making skills, autonomous, collaborative with high integrity levels Critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Planning and organizing Computer literate with advanced level in Excel and PowerPoint. High professional ethics are required to drive and support evolution in geological and mine planning approaches.
