Job Description : Vice President Operations – Ready to Eat Meals TORONTO CANADA a major disruptor within the foods space is looking for a Spreads/Dips/Dairy Operations Director/ VP of manufacturing to pioneer the commissioning and ongoing operational leadership of our inaugural Foods spreads & Dips facility, currently in the brownfield stage. To be operational by October 2024 and reporting to the COO, this leader will be accountable for a 100,000+ state-of-the-art manufacturing facility that supports our short- and long-term growth agenda. The leader possesses agile and critical thinking, strong analytical skills, and experience in the build-out, commissioning, and successful start-up of a large-scale manufacturing platform. We are looking for a refrigerated, short-shelf-life manufacturing supply chain leader who has managed brownfield sites through to launch and execution. A profile who has the autonomy to be hands-on, take initiative, fully lead a P&L, and has exposure to microbial and microorganisms experience. The key priorities for this role include. Champion the brownfield master schedule to deliver the project on time and budget. Provide the operational structure and staff as required to run the plant. Leadership of the ongoing operations, with an integrated approach into our centralized ERP and planning system Advise leadership on strategic manufacturing practices, supply chain strategies, and understanding of global best practices to support a growth-based agenda over the next 1-3 years A refrigerated foods background Define key Metrics for improved Operations and Supply Chain efficiency along with review mechanisms and regularly report them to relevant functions for better decision-making. Develop a robust road map to deliver enablers/savings. Responsible for overall Team development through regular feedback and periodic performance reviews against set goals. Focus on the quality of the team, training, development, and outputs. The key leadership profile/competencies for this role include. Set key performance standards for the Operations and Supply Chain function and contribute to overall AEL team development. Track record of building strong operations and supply chain teams Ability to get things done through others. Coach, develop and mentor. Support Strategy Development Recognize the strategic importance of this new facility and its contribution to our future growth. Identify and implement ongoing operational strategy and improvements. Proven experience in delivering savings by identifying a road map and rallying the organization to execute. Ability to dive deep where needed on relevant issues. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, or a related field. 20+ years experience in managing Operations and Supply Chain functions in a hummus/dips/dairy-based environment. Exposure to fast-paced operations within food manufacturing plants. Exposure to both MNC and privately owned businesses. Exposure operating across Canada's leading manufacturing facilities and transportation. First-hand experience with ERP / Supply Chain tools – advanced technologies are a key advantage. Ability to independently lead and coordinate multi-locational projects. Dealing with 3rd party logistics service providers, negotiation skills, and establishing good working relationships. Negotiating deals with suppliers for cost-effective materials. Executed significant Cost-improvement projects. A lean practitioner who can manage and adapt to change and transformation. Comfort rolling up their sleeves and being very hands-on as necessary, as well as the ability to delegate to their teams.
