Internal Audit Head

Job Description : INTERNAL AUDIT HEAD UGANDA Head Internal Audit Reports to: Director(s) Supervises: Internal Audit Team Department: Internal Audit Qualified Chartered Accountant or CPA. 10 -15 years of experience in the Finance & Internal Audit functions with the last 5 years in a management position in Internal Audit in Hospitality Sector with progressive career growth. Well-versed in Audit Procedures and International Accounting and Auditing standards. Ability to handle several projects at once while staying organized, detail oriented and diligent. Must possess a strong analytical and business mind-set in working through issues. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Tools Impact of Internal Auditing in Organization. (Risk Management- e.g.- Minimize financial loss due to inside fraud, Minimize exposure to unexpected risks) Output of audits (Findings, corrective measures, improvement in processes.) To set strategy and governance for Internal Audit expectations across the groups properties. To develop robust internal management controls and audit them periodically to ensure adherence to the systems put in place. To establish audit goals and scope, identify specific activities and timeframes and conduct audits as per the annual audit plan. To carry out independent financial, compliance, and operational audits through review of records and control procedures, personally or through the team. To review and then present all audit findings to the Directors. To proactively inform and/or meet with the Director(s) for management of significant risks or exposures related to internal controls. To periodically assess the relevance of audit findings, the potential exposures/risks, improving or deteriorating trends, and work out corrective measures in consultation with the Director(s). To carry out all necessary research to keep abreast of regulatory changes and industry standards. To work closely with process owners to identify gaps and remedial measures to fill those gaps in controls and confirm that corrective action plans are followed. To mentor and develop audit team members capable of taking additional responsibilities or handling Internal Auditing independently.
