Technical Manager

Job Description : Technical Manager Paints needed in Nigeria Ensure all Co products are compliant with local laws, regulations and company policies for Health, Safety and the Environment. Lead initiative to drive continual improvement in product design and quality performance by periodic product, competitor, raw material, process, control, testing, and operational evaluations and reviews. Driving actions to ensure the company achieves the maximum competitive advantage. Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, and drive continuous improvement in quality across all functions in the organization. Manage the technical operation and facilities to ensure cost-effective use of resources, ensure product fitness for purpose, produced at right quality while maximizing the profitability to the business. Ensure the implementation of in-process controls and testing driving the business towards a right-first-time, every time’ culture. Oversee the calibration and control of all equipment required to ensure good process and quality controls are in place. Ensure recruitment selection, training and development and motivation of technical personnel to support the business needs today and the future, focusing on skills improvement, career development using performance appraisal system. Develop and implement continuous improvement strategy and goals (KPI’s) for all aspects of the technical function including new product development, raw material, product quality, in process testing, complaint resolution etc. Initiate improvement programs to streamline all product development and quality control activities in line with LEAN thinking and ISO standards. Education and Years of Experience First Degree in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, other pure sciences, or Chemical Engineering Minimum of 10 years’ related experience. Knowledge, Skills and Attributes High levels of drive and determination with a focus to achieve the exceptional standard of results and resilience to overcome challenges and motivate others to deliver the best. Good knowledge of business objectives, application to product design and quality control Including an understanding of its application to LEAN thinking. Ability to foresee issues, problem solving ability and ability to manage teams towards common goals, Underlying knowledge of paint formulation and design, performance, and quality testing together with a hunger to learn and expand knowledge. Organized, structured and confident in all aspects of work and presentation. Annual Saving Potential : Should be upwards of 1.5 times Salary in India.
