Senior Project Manager

Job Description : SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER TANZANIA experienced Project Manager to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of multiple construction projects, from scouting and submitting tenders to managing on-site activities and post-tender processes. This role includes the critical task of writing compelling proposals, recruiting and managing a high-performing team, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional with a strong background in construction project management, exceptional organizational skills, and a proven track record of successfully handling multiple projects simultaneously. Scout for new tender opportunities and evaluate their suitability for the company. Develop and submit multiple tenders, ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete. Write compelling and competitive proposals to secure new projects. Manage pre-tender activities, including site visits and feasibility studies. Oversee post-tender activities, including contract negotiations and clarifications. Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation. Coordinate all aspects of the construction process, from pre-construction to project closeout. Ensure all project plans are aligned with client requirements and company objectives. Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing construction team. Provide leadership, direction, and support to team members to achieve project goals. Conduct performance evaluations and offer constructive feedback to foster professional growth. Foster a collaborative and productive work environment. Oversee and manage multiple construction sites simultaneously. Ensure all sites are operating efficiently, safely, and in compliance with project specifications and regulations. Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and address any issues promptly. Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing any concerns and providing regular updates on project status. Organize and lead site visits for clients, showcasing project progress and addressing any questions or concerns. Prepare and submit detailed reports on project milestones, delays, and risks. Implement and maintain rigorous quality control procedures to ensure the highest standards of construction are met. Ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and regulations. Conduct regular quality assessments and address any issues promptly. Ensure all safety protocols are strictly followed on-site to prevent accidents and injuries. Conduct safety briefings and training sessions for site personnel. Investigate and report any safety incidents, implementing corrective actions as needed. Monitor project costs and manage resources efficiently to control expenses. Develop and implement strategies for cost-saving and resource optimization. Prepare and review budget reports, ensuring alignment with project financial goals. Preferred Candidate Profile Bachelors degree in civil engineering or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus or an MBA. Minimum of 8 years of working experience in a building company, with at least one completed project in a managerial role. Strong leadership and team management skills Excellent project management abilities Proficiency in construction management software Strong understanding of construction methods and materials Exceptional problem-solving skills Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication, and organizational skills - must be able to communicate fluently in English both verbally and in writing Should be extremely facts and data oriented. Should be deadline and closure oriented. Strong persuasion, facilitation and influencing skills. Should be self-driven. Demonstrated ability to lead and work with cross functional teams including senior level individuals. Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment with varying priorities, based on a team building culture.
