Beneficiation Head

Job Description : HEAD OF COAL BENFICIATION SOUTH AFRICA As the Head of Coal Beneficiation, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of coal beneficiation processes within our organization. Leveraging your extensive experience in the field, you will develop and implement strategies to maximize the value of coal resources, improve product quality, and minimize environmental impact. This role offers a unique opportunity to drive innovation and efficiency in one of the core processes of our operations. Operational Management: Lead the coal beneficiation team in designing, implementing, and optimizing beneficiation processes to enhance coal quality and extract maximum value from resources. Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with suppliers, technology providers and research institutions to stay at the forefront of coal beneficiation technologies and best practices. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, engineering, and environmental compliance to ensure seamless integration of beneficiation processes into overall operations Oversee day-to-day operations of the coal beneficiation plant, ensuring optimal performance. Develop and implement operational procedures and best practices. Ensure the beneficiation process is running smoothly and that the quality of the output meets standards. Personnel Management: Mentor and develop team members to foster a culture of excellence, innovation and continuous learning. Conduct performance evaluations and implement development plans for team members. Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Safety and Compliance: Ensure all operations comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations. Conduct regular safety audits and inspections. Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures. Manage emergency response plans and coordinate with emergency services if necessary. Production Management: Develop production schedules and manage resources to meet production targets. Monitor and control production costs, striving for cost efficiency. Coordinate with the supply chain and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of raw materials and dispatch of finished products. Quality Control: Ensure that all products meet quality standards and customer specifications. Oversee the implementation of quality control procedures and troubleshoot any issues. Work with the quality assurance team to identify areas for improvement. Maintenance Management: Develop and oversee a preventative maintenance program for plant equipment. Coordinate with the maintenance team to ensure minimal downtime and efficient repairs. Plan and oversee plant shutdowns and major repairs. Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and present regular reports on plant performance, safety, and production metrics. Maintain accurate records of production data, safety incidents, and compliance activities. Ensure that all documentation is up-to-date and complies with regulatory requirements. Bachelor's degree in mining engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree (e.g., masters in business administration) is a plus. Minimum of 15-20 years of experience in coal beneficiation, mining, or mineral processing. Proven track record of managing plant operations and leading a team.
