Job Description : HEMM HEAD SOUTH AFRICA Open to Indian candidates We are seeking an experienced and strategic-minded professional to join our team as the Head of Heavy Earth Moving Machinery (HEMM). In this leadership role, you will be responsible for overseeing the management and optimization of our fleet of heavy equipment, ensuring operational efficiency, safety, and reliability. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing HEMM operations, a strong technical background, and a proven track record of driving results in the mining industry. Develop and execute strategic plans for the management and utilization of heavy earth moving machinery, aligning with organizational objectives and industry best practices. Oversee the procurement, deployment, maintenance, and disposal of HEMM assets, ensuring optimal utilization and lifecycle management. Provide technical expertise and guidance on the selection, operation, and maintenance of HEMM equipment, including excavators, bulldozers, dump trucks, and loaders. Establish and enforce safety protocols, maintenance standards, and regulatory compliance requirements for HEMM operations, promoting a culture of safety and adherence to industry regulations. Implement systems and processes for monitoring the performance, efficiency, and reliability of HEMM assets, analyzing data to identify opportunities for improvement. Develop and manage budgets for HEMM operations, optimizing resource allocation and minimizing operating costs while maintaining high equipment reliability and availability. Lead and mentor a team of HEMM professionals, including equipment managers, technicians, and operators, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning. Cultivate and maintain relationships with equipment suppliers, service providers, and vendors to ensure timely delivery of parts, services, and technical support. Evaluate and implement emerging technologies and innovations to enhance the efficiency, performance, and safety of HEMM operations, such as telematics, automation, and predictive maintenance solutions. Promote environmentally sustainable practices in HEMM operations, minimizing ecological impact and adhering to environmental regulations and standards. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mining Engineering, or related field. Master's degree preferred. Minimum of 20+ years of experience in heavy earth moving machinery operations and management, with a focus on mining, construction, or related industries. Proven track record of leadership and strategic planning in HEMM operations, with demonstrated results in optimizing fleet performance and efficiency. Strong technical knowledge of HEMM equipment, maintenance practices, and safety standards. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis and performance metrics. Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry best practices in HEMM operations. Leadership experience in managing diverse teams and driving a culture of safety, excellence, and continuous improvement
