Supply Chain Manager
10 yearsJob Description : NATIONAL SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGER ZAMBIA 10-15 years experience Manage and oversee the end-to-end supply chain processes, including Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP), inventory management, warehousing, transportation, and distribution. Analyze data from shipping and delivering processes to find bottlenecks and other issues. Evaluate and report on KPIs, and suggest improvements based on findings. Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to identify vulnerabilities and close operational gaps. Ensure supply chain processes meet legal/tax related requirements and standards. Negotiate with suppliers and vendors to secure advantageous terms. Forecast demand and ensure product availability and timely delivery. Implement new technologies and stay alert to new trends and developments in the sector. Lead and mentor a team of supply chain professionals, fostering a collaborative, productive environment. Oversee warehouse operations to ensure efficient space utilization and maintenance of safety standards. Implement and monitor effective inventory management techniques to optimize stock levels and minimize waste and obsolescence. Collaborate with warehouse staff to implement best practices in warehouse operations, incorporating the latest technological advancements for streamlined processes. Develop strategies for warehouse process optimization, including layout planning, automation, and system improvements. Design and execute efficient distribution strategies, considering factors such as geography, customer delivery requirements, and cost implications. Work closely with transportation and logistics providers to ensure timely and cost effective delivery of goods. Analyze and optimize transportation modes, routing, and carrier selection to reduce costs and improve delivery times. Develop contingency plans for supply chain disruptions, ensuring alternative distribution methods and channels are in place. Establish quality assurance processes throughout the supply chain to ensure product quality and compliance with regulatory standards. Lead initiatives to address quality issues in supply chain, including audits and process re-engineering. Ensure that all supply chain partners adhere to industry quality standards and certifications required by the company’s products and services. Provide a set of KPIs that allow monitoring of critical compliance aspects of quality applied to the food industry, and to the dairy/fresh segment specifically. Develop and implement supply chain performance metrics to monitor efficiency, effectiveness, and alignment with overall business objectives. Conduct regular performance reviews, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions to resolve issues promptly. Leverage advanced analytics and supply chain modeling tools to forecast trends, assess risks, and identify opportunities for improvement. Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the supply chain team, encouraging innovation and the adoption of best practices. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills. Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal. Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field. A Master’s degree is advantageous. Proven experience as a Supply Chain Manager, Logistics Manager, or a similar role. Strong understanding of supply chain management concepts and strategies. Understanding of legal, regulatory, and compliance issues related to supply chain management.
