Job Description : Chief Operating Officer to join their client’s team and build a next-level grocery retail business in the GCC Location: Onsite, Dubai, UAE Duration: Full-time role Salary: Competitive, commensurate with experience Job Summary: The COO will play a critical role in the operational success of the newly launched brand in the UAE market, overseeing the company’s day-to-day administrative and operational functions. This position requires a leader with extensive experience in retail operations, supply chain management, and a proven track record of scaling operations in new markets, particularly within the grocery retail sector. Key Responsibilities: Operational Leadership: Oversee all operational aspects of the company, ensuring seamless store operations, supply chain efficiency, and high customer service standards. Strategy Implementation: Translate the company’s strategic plans into operational plans, driving their execution and measuring their success through relevant KPIs. Team Management: Build, mentor, and lead a team of operational, supply chain, and store management professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, efficiency, and innovation. Supply Chain Optimization: Develop and manage a robust supply chain strategy that ensures product availability, quality, and cost-effectiveness, aligning with the company s sustainability goals. Both for offline and online business streams. Process Improvement: Continuously assess and improve operational processes and technologies to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction. Financial Oversight: Work closely with the finance team to manage operational budgets, forecasting, and cost control measures, ensuring financial targets are met. Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure all operations comply with local laws and regulations, managing operational risks effectively. Stakeholder Relations: Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, partners, and government agencies, negotiating contracts that benefit the JV. Customer Experience Enhancement: Oversee initiatives to improve the in-store and online shopping experience, driving customer loyalty and retention. Market Expansion Support: Collaborate with the executive team on market expansion strategies, including location scouting, store setup, and operational scaling. Qualifications: Proven experience as a COO or similar role, with a strong background in retail operations, preferably in grocery or FMCG sectors. Extensive knowledge of the UAE market, consumer behavior, and regulatory environment. Demonstrated ability to lead and scale operations in a fast-paced environment. Strong analytical skills and experience with operational metrics and financial management. Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams. Strategic thinker with exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills. Master s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field; MBA or relevant graduate degree is preferred.
