Job Description : BUSINESS UNIT DIRECTOR ETHIOPIA Take a leading role in defining the annual sales budget and exceeding defined targets in line with the company’s strategy, focusing on specific sales verticals. Develop and maintain relationships with existing and new customers/contacts to provide the company with a competitive edge. Optimize bookings for the company, predominantly in South Africa and various countries in Southern Africa. Participate in developing and optimizing overall bid strategies and sales & marketing strategies. Actively promote the image and profile of the company in a professional manner. Ensure constant visibility of the company through regular presentations of the company products and technologies at appropriate seminars and conferences. Continuously improve personal and team knowledge of all products and technologies using internal personnel or approved external sources. Provide regular feedback to the management team, BD heads, and CEO on progress within various business segments. Lead, direct, and focus teams within business development, marketing, and communications. Ensure all business lines/activities are promoted to all clients, enhancing the footprint and competency of the company. Responsible for the tendering of large-scale contracts in both municipal and industrial sectors. Provide direction, leadership, and support in compiling and submitting PPP contracts within the Southern Africa region. Key Skills: Strong financial acumen with some training on P&L’s and project profitability assessments. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively at all levels. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Persuasive, confident, and assertive. Proven track record of having built and maintained successful client relationships and high-level contacts in relevant fields. Dynamic self-starter with a passion for business development and marketing. Self-reliant and persistent. Qualifications: Preferably a B Degree in Engineering or alternatively a Master’s in Business Administration/BCom Sales and Marketing Degree or assessed equivalent. Ten to fifteen years of business development/sales experience in industrial chemicals and energy services/projects. Extensive knowledge of B2B sales in utilities (water, waste, or energy) for industry. Computer literacy in Google Workspace tools and experience with cloud computing, such as DocuSign. Sound understanding of fundamental contractual issues, with strong business and commercial skills.
