General Manager

Job Description : a leading player in the Palm oil plantation industry, renowned for their global coverage and operations in Africa. Due to an expansion of their projects in Gabon, they are currently seeking a General Manager with proven experience in the Palm Oil sector to lead their operations in Mouila, Gabon. Reporting to the Vice President of Plantations - Africa, you will be required to carry out the below duties : · You will be responsible for managing, delegating and developing strategic guidelines for the plantation operations · Responsible for overseeing all plantation operations , including planning, production, harvesting and post harvest of palm oil · Promote and implement sustainable agricultural practices, while consulting with the Agronomy departments · You manage the OPEX & CAPEX for the plantations, while ensuring the budgets are in line with the group · Focus on leading continuous improvement plans to effectively optimize operations · Effectively collaborating with the Operations and engineering teams to determine quality, productivity and maintenance for agricultural equipment · Ensuring full compliance on operating procedures in the company , inclusive of Health, Safety & Environment · Reviewing P/ L's, while working closely with Estate managers to improve operational efficiency You bring minimum of 15 years of proven experience as a General Manager who has worked in the Oil Palm plantation sector Working experience in the Agribusiness or Oil Palm sector internationally is preferred Bachelor's degree in Business Manager or Agriculture would be preferred Proven leadership and management skills in leading a palm plantation over 8000 hectares is mandatory Excellent communication skills in French & English is required Must be willing to relocate and work in Mouila, Gabon Competitive international package + benefits and accommodation
