General Manager

Job Description : GM GHANA FOR FMCG We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to lead a new FMCG distribution company in Ghana. As the company is in its startup phase, the successful candidate will be instrumental in establishing and growing the business. This role requires a hands-on leader who can oversee the entire distribution process, ensure efficient and effective delivery of products, and drive business growth from the ground up. Develop and implement strategic plans to establish and expand the distribution network Oversee initial setup and day-to-day operations, including logistics, warehousing, inventory management, and distribution. Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Manage budgets, forecast sales, and monitor financial performance to ensure profitability and cost-effectiveness. Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction. Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities and stay updated on industry trends and competitor activities. Ensure all operations comply with local regulations and company policies. Prepare and present regular reports on operational performance, financial results, and strategic initiatives to the senior management team Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred Minimum of 25+ years of experience in the FMCG distribution industry, with at least 5 years in a senior management role Experience in establishing and growing a new business, particularly in the FMCG distribution sector Extensive experience in the Ghanaian market with an understanding of local business practices and cultural nuances Excellent leadership skills with proven track record of leading and managing large teams Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite Fluent in English and Arabic.
