Job Description : Contract Manager Industry: Oil & Gas Location: Nigeria Employment Type: Full-Time Experience Level: Mid to Senior Level About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Contract Manager to oversee contract management for our EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects within the Oil & Gas sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in contract law, negotiation, and management, with proficiency in either French or English. This role is critical to ensuring that all contractual obligations are met, risks are managed, and projects are delivered successfully. Key Responsibilities: Contract Drafting & Negotiation: Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring terms are clear, fair, and enforceable. Lead contract negotiations, working closely with legal, procurement, and project teams to secure favorable terms and minimize risks. Ensure that contracts comply with local laws, regulations, and industry standards. Contract Management: Oversee the administration of contracts throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with all terms and conditions. Manage contract changes, variations, and amendments, ensuring proper documentation and approvals. Maintain accurate records of all contract-related documents and correspondence. Risk Management: Identify and assess potential risks associated with contracts, including financial, legal, and operational risks. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to protect the company’s interests. Monitor contract performance, ensuring timely resolution of disputes or issues. Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for all contract-related matters, Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure clear communication and alignment on contract terms. Prepare and present regular reports on contract status, risks, and opportunities. Compliance & Ethics: Ensure all contract activities are conducted in accordance with company policies, ethical standards, and applicable laws. Provide training and support to project teams on contract management best practices. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, legal developments, and regulatory changes that may impact contract management. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or legal qualification is a plus. 15+ years of experience in contract management, preferably within the EPC sector and Oil & Gas industry. Proficiency in French or English (both languages are a plus). In-depth knowledge of contract law, particularly within the European context.
