Job Description : HEAD OF MINING - ZAMBIA an international mining company, is seeking an experienced Head of Mining to lead their operations with a deep understanding of modern mining management practices and global industry trends. Required Skills and Experience: Degree in any Mining qualification or equivalent plus at least 20 years working experience in mechanized controlled mining and has an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the mining business activities. Strong management and leadership skills with a high degree of accountability (Senior level position) Have experience of Benchmarking practices both safety and productivity in mining. Develop a lean culture and robust succession planning. Have full responsibility for the direction, management and development of the existing and all operations projects with a proven track record in improving all mining processes Direct and manage the full operations and the ongoing projects of the mine operations Have proven experience in the development and management of mine operations, including bringing new operations into full production Ensure safe mine operations and establish and maintain effective safety programs to minimize accidents and industrial hygiene exposure. Ensure compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations and associated permits. Excellent interpersonal, communication and consultative skills with the ability to interact with and influence senior people in the company, private and public sector Highly analytic and strategic with the ability to appreciate the big picture and context, and effectively implement the same in practical terms. Strong financial acumen. Possesses a strong sense of personal integrity and upholds ethical practices.
