Technical Director

Job Description : TECHNICAL DIRECTOR EAST AFRICA As a Technical Director, you will have responsibility for technical delivery on projects assigned to you; the role will also include client liaison and leading teams of engineers and technicians. You will work with other Technical Directors to develop and maintain the firm's bridge engineering expertise. leading engineering, design and consultancy company. Description Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: - Technical leadership and management of teams of engineers and technicians - Technical custodianship of key bridge design competencies - Mentoring and developing other engineering staff in your areas of key expertise - Manage and co-ordinate projects from feasibility to detailed design - Contribute to internal peer reviews of projects - Technical approval of designs, assessments and calculations in accordance with quality procedures - Contribute to business development opportunities where possible - Preparation of bids and tenders when required Profile - Have demonstrable expertise in the design of steel and/or concrete bridges at a senior and technical leadership level - Be a chartered civil or structural engineer (CEng, MICE. MIStructE), with potential to become FICE or FIStructE - Possess extensive experience of working within a consulting environment on bridge design projects - Have experience of major and complex bridge projects - Be an accomplished team leader with the ability to support, mentor and develop less experienced engineers - Have a sound understanding of CDM Regulations, risk assessment process and UK Standards, Eurocodes and other international standards - Have excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
