18 yearsJob Description : Director of Marketing Communications Location: Nigeria Industry: Telecom Position Type: Full-Time Job Summary: The Director of Marketing Communications, you will be responsible for developing and overseeing comprehensive communication strategies that enhance the company's brand, drive customer engagement, and support business objectives. This role involves leading a team to create and implement effective internal and external communication plans, managing public relations efforts, and ensuring consistent messaging across all channels. Will be responsible for all the integrated communication needs of the company - advertising, media, OOH, PR, events and promotions, sponsorships, TV shows, branding POS/merchandising - as well as assisting in paving the way to spreading its operations across all major countries in West Africa. Key Responsibilities : Strategic Communication Planning: - Develop and execute strategic communication plans that align with the company's business goals and brand strategy. - Identify key messaging opportunities and craft communication strategies to support product launches, promotions, and corporate initiatives. Public Relations & Media Relations: - Oversee media relations efforts, including developing press releases, managing media inquiries, and building relationships with key media outlets. - Coordinate press events, briefings, and interviews to enhance the company's visibility and reputation. Internal Communications: - Develop and implement internal communication strategies to keep employees informed and engaged. - Manage internal communication channels, including newsletters, intranet, and employee announcements. - Foster a positive corporate culture through effective communication practices. Brand Management: - Ensure consistent brand messaging across all communication platforms and materials. - Work closely with marketing and design teams to maintain brand integrity and align messaging with overall marketing strategy. Content Creation & Management: - Oversee the creation of compelling content for various channels, including press releases, blog posts, social media, and corporate publications. - Develop and maintain a content calendar to ensure timely and relevant communication. Stakeholder Engagement: - Engage with key stakeholders, including customers, investors, and partners, to build and maintain strong relationships. - Coordinate communication efforts for stakeholder events and engagements. Budget Management: - Develop and manage the communications budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources. - Track expenditures and measure the impact of communication initiatives. Analytics & Reporting: - Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of communication strategies and campaigns. - Provide regular reports on communication performance, including media coverage, engagement metrics, and feedback. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field. An advanced degree (e.g., MBA or Master's in Communications) is preferred. Experience: Minimum of 18 years of experience in marketing communications, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the telecom industry. Skills: - Proven experience in developing and executing effective communication strategies and campaigns. - Strong media relations skills and experience managing public relations efforts. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft clear and compelling messages. - Leadership and team management experience, with a track record of successfully guiding and mentoring teams. - Proficiency in communication tools and platforms, including social media and content management systems. - Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously. -
