Job Description : Plant/Production Manager - Plastic/Flexible Packaging 15+ years experience Location: Guinea -West Africa Department: Plastics Carry Bags Department Reports to: Director We are seeking an experienced Plant/Production Manager with extensive expertise in the plastic and flexible packaging industry. The ideal candidate will have the necessary experience and expertise in the plastic and flexible packaging industry, particularly in Blown Film Extrusion and Printing technology. This should help attract qualified candidates with strong leadership skills and a background in managing international production units. 1) Production Management: Plan and schedule production activities to meet monthly targets. Allocate resources efficiently to optimize production and minimize wastage. Monitor production processes, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to quality standards. 2) Process Engineering: Utilize knowledge of co-extruded multilayer Blown Film lines and polymer combinations to improve production efficiency. Implement preventive maintenance schedules to ensure continuous operation of machinery. Develop and apply value engineering initiatives to reduce scrap and material costs. 3) Team Leadership: Direct and motivate factory staff to achieve production targets. Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team performance. Foster a collaborative work environment focused on continuous improvement. 4) Quality Control: Ensure compliance with all production and quality systems. Develop and implement procedures to maintain high-quality standards in all products. Address and resolve any quality issues that arise during production. 5) Cost Management: Identify and implement cost-saving measures to enhance profitability. Manage budgets for production activities, ensuring financial efficiency. Develop and execute strategies to reduce production costs while maintaining quality. Bachelor's degree in engineering; PG Diploma in Plastic Engineering preferred. Minimum of 12-14 years of experience in production management within the plastic or flexible packaging industry. Strong understanding of extrusion technology, process engineering, and production planning. Proven leadership and team management skills. Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities. Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Expertise in Blown Film Extrusion and Printing technology. Proficiency in managing man, material, and machinery in a production environment. Strong strategic planning and organizational skills. Goal-oriented with a focus on team success. Adaptability and resilience in changing environments. Experience in managing production units in international markets, particularly in Africa and India.
