Job Description : GENERAL MANAGER – SALES & MARKETING reputed Resin Manufacturing client based at Mumbai . An incumbent should have the qualifications as given below with around 18-24 years of experience working with some Resin/Pigments/Paints/Coating/Adhesive Manufacturing Industry. B.Sc. (Chemistry) / M.Sc. / BTech (Chemical Engg./ Paint Technology) / with MBA in Marketing from a reputed Institute. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE GENERAL MANAGER – SALES & MARKETING RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. TEAM BUILDING: To develop and maintain a highly motivated and effective Sales force and marketing team. This would involve taking necessary steps to train, develop and motivate the sales & marketing team and to help and guide them in acquiring the necessary knowledge and skills in this regard so that they are able to carry out their responsibilities effectively. He will provide leadership of a high order to his team. 2. SALES, MARKETING & DISTRIBUTION: a) To manage the activities of the Sales & Marketing department of the Company in a professional and effective manner. b) To analyse market trends and business opportunities both in India and abroad and develop strategies and plans for sales and profit maximization. c) To develop and implement strategies and plans in the field of credit management, pricing etc. and to develop commercial skills in the Sales & Marketing team so as to ensure achievement of objectives set in these areas. d) To ensure effective inter-action and rapport with all important Agents, Distributors and Customers through direct visits and other means of communication and with others through the Sales & Marketing team. 3. PLANNING & REVIEWS: a) To develop short term (one year), medium term (2-3 Years) and long term (5 years) Business plans for the Company in the area of sales, marketing and distribution as also strategies relevant to these plans and to implement such approved plans & strategies in the most cost effective manner. b) To ensure the conduct of periodical reviews and initiate remedial action, where required. c) To give sales forecast, draw the production plan and make required minimal changes during the month. d) To analyse sales data, monitor and analyse performance metrics and suggest continuous improvement. 4. CO-ORDINATION: a) To co-ordinate with R & D and production departments for the development of new products and improvement in the quality of existing products, where required. b) To co-ordinate with other departments of the Company to ensure better and effective controls over credit, overhead expenses, sales tax forms and other relevant areas.
