Job Description : LOGISTICS MANAGER NIGERIA FOR AGRO COMMODITIES to lead the logistics operations within Nigeria. This pivotal role will ensure the timely and cost-effective movement of agricultural inputs and commodities while maintaining impeccable compliance with all relevant regulations. The ideal candidate possesses in-depth knowledge of Nigerian customs procedures, strong relationship-building skills, and a demonstrated ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: • Clearing and Logistics Management: Oversee all aspects of import/export clearing processes, including timely shipment clearance, accurate documentation, and effective management of freight forwarding activities. • Regulatory Compliance: Collaborate closely with customs, government agencies (including NAFDAC), and shipping companies to ensure strict adherence to all import/export regulations and standards. • Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong relationships with shipping companies, customs agents, and key government officials to facilitate smooth logistics operations. • Problem-Solving and Urgency: Exhibit a high sense of urgency and a proactive problem-solving approach to address potential delays, bottlenecks, or unexpected situations in the supply chain. • Efficiency and Cost Optimization: Enforce a zero-demurrage policy and continuously seek ways to optimize logistics processes for maximum efficiency and cost savings. • Team Leadership: Guide and mentor a team of logistics personnel, fostering a culture of compliance, efficiency, and customer service. • Hands-On Approach: Demonstrate a willingness to engage with on-the-ground activities, proactively identifying and resolving operational challenges. • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in logistics management within Nigeria. • Education: Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field. • Technical Skills: Proficient knowledge of Nigerian customs regulations, import/export processes, NAFDAC requirements, and documentation standards. • Relationship Management: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with diverse stakeholders. • Problem-solving: A results-oriented problem solver with the ability to think creatively and implement solutions under tight deadlines. • Urgency and Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a demonstrated sense of urgency. • Leadership: A track record of effective team management and the ability to motivate and inspire staff.
