Job Description : PRODUCTION MANAGER TANZANIA FOR LUBE OIL BLENDING PLANT 12-15 years experience The Production Manager will be responsible for the efficient and safe operation of a lubricating oil blending plant and oversee all aspects of the production processes to ensure that production targets, quality standards of automotive and industrial lubricants, and safety regulations are met. The manager will lead a team of operators, oversee production planning and scheduling, and implement best practices to minimize downtime and waste. This role is crucial for optimizing production workflows, managing resources, and leading a team to achieve excellence in the lubricants production. Production Oversight: Manage and supervise daily production activities, including planning, scheduling, and coordination of blending processes to meet production goals and deadlines. Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of production staff, including engineers, technicians, and operators. Conduct performance evaluations, provide training, and foster a collaborative work environment. Quality Control: Ensure that all products meet quality standards and specifications. Implement and maintain quality control procedures, address any production issues, and initiate corrective actions as necessary. Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate production processes and workflows to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost reductions. Implement best practices and new technologies to enhance productivity. Resource Management: Oversee inventory levels, manage raw materials, and ensure optimal utilization of equipment and resources. Coordinate with procurement and supply chain teams to ensure timely availability of feed-stocks and other production inputs. Safety and Compliance: Ensure that all production activities adhere to safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards. Promote a culture of safety and implement measures to minimize workplace hazards. Troubleshooting: Address and resolve any production-related issues, including equipment malfunctions, process bottlenecks, and quality concerns. Develop and implement strategies to prevent recurrence of issues. Qualifications: Education: Bachelors degree in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering / manufacturing technology, or a related field. Advanced degrees or relevant certifications are a plus. Experience: Minimum of 12 years of experience in a production management role within a manufacturing environment, preferably in a lubricants blending plant or related process industry. Skills: Strong leadership and team management abilities, excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, and a thorough understanding of production processes and quality control. Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with lubricant oil blending processes and technologies. Experience in implementing Six Sigma methodology to reduce defects, improve efficiency, and enhance customer satisfaction is highly desirable. Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with team members, senior management, and external stakeholders. Safety: In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and practices within a manufacturing setting.
