Regional Sales Manager

Job Description : RSM UGANDA Develop strategic plans to penetrate new markets and optimize sales strategies with a focus on determining the ideal timing, approach, and implementation. Develop innovative sales strategies with a focus on exceeding business goals and expanding market presence. Lead and mentor the sales team, providing guidance, training, and support. Manage profit and loss and implement effective cost-control measures. Build and maintain strong relationships with key modern trade customers, distributors, and stakeholders to understand their unique needs, preferences, and purchasing behaviours. Identify and pursue new business opportunities within modern trade, including partnerships with supermarkets, hypermarkets, and retail chains, to expand the company's presence and revenue streams. Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to anticipate changes and adapt sales strategies accordingly. Prepare and present sales forecasts, budgets, and reports to senior management, highlighting achievements, challenges, and opportunities. Negotiate contracts, agreements, and pricing terms with clients to maximize profitability while ensuring customer satisfaction. Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and industry regulations in all sales activities. Participate in trade shows, exhibitions, and industry events to promote the company's products and services and network with potential clients. Lead the development of innovative sales strategies tailored for export markets, emphasizing high-volume transactions and optimized margins. Drive efforts to strengthen export channels, focusing on expanding distribution networks and maximizing market penetration in target regions. Collaborate closely with the marketing department to develop targeted promotional campaigns, pricing strategies, and product positioning initiatives aimed at modern trade audiences. Manage social media vs traditional marketing channels. Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and industry regulations in all sales activities. Smart, young, energetic and dynamic thinker. Minimum 20 years’ experience with minimum 10 years in East Africa (Uganda experience is mandatory). Experience in Strategic Planning of Sales Targets and Markets up to minimum 5 years forward supported by Strategic Business Plan Strong Powerpoint, Excel and Presentation skills Analytical skills to assess sales performance and market dynamics. IT Capabilities , in data analysis, people management in various regional markets including experience in using sales apps. Strong Marketing experience (including traditional and social media) and brand/customer loyalty management. Candidates with an FMCG background, particularly in daily commodity products such as sweets, edible oil, maize flour, sugar, and detergent powders are preferred.
