Job Description : GM SALES KENYA FOR FMCG Oversee and manage departmental operating budgets and costs according to annual allocation to ensure efficient usage of resources. Develop and implement a robust sales force effectiveness framework to govern all sales force effectiveness activities. Oversee the development, execution and monitoring of sales force effectiveness plans and initiatives to drive sales growth and sales force productivity. Conducts training on Sales Processes and Procedure to enhance sales team competitive skills and advantage. Develops specific plans to ensure revenue growth in all company’s products. Keeping up to date with products and competitors. Formulate and implement a training framework for the integrated development of the sales force. Conduct training and initiate enhancements to training framework/programs. Oversee the implementation of a robust reporting platform that caters to internal sales reporting requirements. Drive continuous improvement of sales force effectiveness framework, plans, training, processes, tools, systems and reporting to effectively support sales teams. Managing and Developing Regional Sales Team and Sub-distributors. Implementing the Company’s Mission, Vision and Goals for the regional areas. Ensure achievement of sales, brand, category, product and financial targets on the assigned regional areas (Monthly, Quarterly and Annually). Lead in the Planning, formulation and creation of sales plans for the regional sales team and sub-distributors. Collecting customer feedback and market research / Monitor competitors and their activities and provide timely updates / feedbacks to the team / management. Conducts Business Reviews monthly, quarterly and annually to sales department. Monitoring the progress and performance of regional distributors and sales team and setting challenging goals for them; ensures that the team is provided with resources for smooth functioning. Resolve customer complaints and maintain regular regional and sub-distributor visits. Ensure Implementation of all marketing programs and promotions at regional and channel level. Responsible for the accurate reporting of all details pertaining to sales figures, category data, stock movement, inventory aging, personnel movement etc. Collaborate with sales teams to anticipate their needs and customize solutions that will increase their effectiveness. Build and maintain long-term relationships with external vendors to ensure sustainability of services provided. Increasing business opportunities through various routes to market. Recruiting and training sales staff both regional and sub-distributors. Allocating areas of coverage for both Regional Sales Team and Sub-Distributors. Developing sales strategies for both Regional and Sub-distributor sales teams. Ensure sales team both regional and sub-distributor achieves the targets and goals set by Company. Establishing, maintaining and expanding regional customer base. Ensure sales plan contains both qualitative and quantitative information and provide sales management with the information to capture all available sales opportunities within the defined territory. The sales plan will be updated periodically and executed throughout the year. Roll-out monthly targets, quarterly targets and yearly targets for all sub-distributors and regional sales team. Monitoring sales team's performance and motivating them to reach targets, Compiling and analyzing sales figures. University Graduate, Diploma in Sales & Marketing or MBA is preferred. Minimum 20 years’ from which 5 + experience in a managerial capacity Demonstrate sound knowledge and understanding of the industry/market/competitors/customers Demonstrate sound knowledge and a proven sales track record in assigned territories/products/services and an existing network of contacts Demonstrate strong communication and negotiation skills Demonstrate proficiencies in office productivity tools (e.g. Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
