Job Description : EXPAT HEAD OF MINING WEST AFRICA a forward-thinking group with extensive mining concessions, seeks an exceptional Head of Mining to spearhead their rapidly expanding mining division. Our client owns significant mining concessions for various minerals in West Africa, including bauxite, iron-ore, lithium, gold, and critical minerals. With production set to commence in Q1 2025, they're poised for substantial growth and seeking a strategic leader to drive their vision forward. As Head of Mining, reporting directly to the CMD, you will be responsible for: Building and leading a world-class mining organization from the ground up Overseeing all aspects of mining operations, from exploration to production Developing and implementing strategic plans for multiple mining projects Ensuring operational excellence while maintaining the highest safety and environmental standards Managing stakeholder relationships, including government entities and regulators Providing strategic financial oversight of mining operations Extensive experience in the mining industry across the full project lifecycle Proven track record in developing and commercializing mines Experience in Africa, particularly in navigating the regional mining landscape Strong technical expertise across various minerals and mining operations Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to build and motivate teams Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities Experience in managing large budgets and financial plans Commitment to corporate governance and environmental sustainability Play a pivotal role in building a significant mining operation from the ground up Have the opportunity to shape the strategic direction of multiple mining projects Lead a diverse portfolio of minerals in one of Africa's most promising regions Enjoy competitive compensation and the backing of a strong corporate group
