Job Description : General Manager- Rice Bran Oil Physical Refinery Plant ANGOLA Job Overview: As the General Manager of our edible oil refinery plant, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of plant operations, ensuring efficient production, quality control, and adherence to safety and environmental regulations. You will lead a diverse team of professionals and collaborate closely with senior management to drive continuous improvement and achieve business objectives. Key Responsibilities: Operational Leadership: Provide strategic direction and leadership to ensure optimal performance of all plant operations, including refining, processing, packaging, and distribution. Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain rigorous quality control measures to uphold product quality standards and compliance with regulatory requirements. Safety and Environmental Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, promote a culture of safety awareness, and oversee environmental compliance to minimize impact on the environment. Production Efficiency: Optimize production processes, identify areas for improvement, and implement measures to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and maximize throughput. Budget and Cost Management: Develop and manage the plant budget, monitor expenses, and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising on quality or safety. Team Leadership and Development: Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing team of professionals, foster a collaborative work environment, and promote professional growth and development. Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, regulatory agencies, and local communities. Continuous Improvement: Drive a culture of continuous improvement by implementing best practices, fostering innovation, and actively seeking opportunities for optimization and innovation. Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, Oil Technologist, or a related field; advanced degree preferred. Proven experience (18 years) in a leadership role within the edible oil refining industry or a similar manufacturing environment. In-depth knowledge of edible oil refining processes, quality control standards, safety regulations, and environmental compliance requirements. Strong leadership abilities with a track record of effectively managing teams, driving operational excellence, and achieving business objectives. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities. Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and sustainability. Proficiency in MS Office and experience with ERP systems is preferred.
