Job Description : COUNTRY MANAGER EAST AFRICA 15+ years experience pharmaceutical formulations (injectables) business across Ethiopia, Kenya, and other African markets. The ideal candidate will be based locally in one of these countries and will play a pivotal role in driving sales, managing distribution channels, and enhancing brand visibility in the region. Market Management: Lead and manage distribution and sales operations across multiple African countries, focusing on Ethiopia and Kenya. Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors, partners, and local stakeholders to ensure market penetration and sales growth. Branding & Promotional Activities: Develop and execute branding and marketing strategies tailored to the African market to drive product awareness and visibility. Plan and implement promotional activities to enhance the positioning of pharmaceutical products in the region. Product Knowledge & Technical Expertise: Oversee the promotion of finished pharmaceutical formulations, specifically injectables, for the ROW (Rest of World) market. Handle technical communications and compliance issues with regulatory authorities, particularly with the EFDA (Ethiopian Food and Drug Authority) and other relevant bodies. Government & Regulatory Liaison: Engage with government authorities and regulators to ensure smooth registration, approval, and commercialization of products. Stay updated on local laws, regulatory requirements, and market dynamics to ensure compliance and growth. Experience: Proven experience as a Country Manager or a similar role in the African pharmaceutical market, especially in Ethiopia and Kenya. Strong understanding of the African pharmaceutical landscape, including government processes, distribution networks, and regulatory requirements. Experience in finished formulations, specifically injectables, is essential. Skills: Ability to communicate and negotiate effectively with government authorities and regulatory bodies. Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication skills in English; knowledge of local languages will be an advantage. Willingness to Relocate: Candidates must be willing to live and work in Ethiopia or Kenya for extended periods.
