Finance Head

Job Description : HEAD OF FINANCE KENYA This position reports to: CEO Direct Reports: Finance Manager, Project accountant & Management Accountant Finance Tea The purpose of the job is to ensure profit maximization and proper estimation of total financial requirements utilization of funds and ensuring the company is compliant with tax regulations Lead preparation of company budget and ensure funds are allocated accordingly Monitor of company’s budget and ensure fund are well allocated Lead and ensure funds are allocated correctly • Manage and review the cash flow projection report so as to ensure proper planning of daily activities Lead the preparation of financial reports and ensure they are submitted to the management within the required period Ensure accurate and timely submission of all statutory deductions such as; NHIF, NSSF, payee • Answer any financial related queries to the external auditor • Oversee intercompany loan transactions • Manage all finance related records and ensure safe-keeping of the same • Manage and review all reconciliations i.e. debtors, creditors, bank and petty cash to ensure accuracy of information • Manage stock taking process to ensure all records on the system are aligned with the physical stock on site • Manage the fixed asset register • Accuracy in budget preparation • Safe custody of fixed assets • Statutory compliance with zero penalties for non-compliance • Timely submission of financial reports • Accuracy in financial reporting § Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or business related discipline from a reputable university. § Master’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or business related discipline from a reputable university would be an added advantage. § Professional qualification(s) e.g. ACCA, CPA, CFA or the equivalent. § At least Seven years’ experience § Excellent understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) § Excellent grasp of Financial and Management Accounting; Taxation and relevant legislation. § Knowledge of accounting principles and practice and the analysis and reporting of financial data. § Demonstrated ability to engage and influence senior level leaders regarding key business priorities, issues and initiatives. § Knowledge of regulatory requirements and regulations related to the financial sector. § Sound knowledge of macroeconomic and microeconomic environment. § Project management skills. § Ability to lead, influence and drive change initiatives in support of business strategies within the department. § Strong leadership and skills to foster teamwork; develop and motivate staff, resolv e conflicts as well as ability to provide direction, guidance, momentum and vision in order to achieve organizational objectives. § Demonstrated business acumen - able to create strategy and actions that influence business success. § Strong communication and presentation skills including ability to develop proposals, concept papers, position papers as well as write reports and prepare relevant publications. § High-level interpersonal and cross-cultural skills, including ability to build alliances and collaborative relationships with sensitivity to diversity. § Strong expertise in strategic management project planning and budgeting, resource management, implementation as well as monitoring and evaluation. § Must be a self-starter, highly organized, and able to work well with people at all levels in the organization. § Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills. § Analytical and creative thinking skills. § Strong persuasion and negotiation skills. § Good customer relationship management skills (internal and external customers) • Risk awareness and focus - demonstrates understanding of risk management practices, standards and regulatory requirements
