They also manage staff, ensure sales targets are met, and monitor pricing patterns. Here are some responsibilities of a retail head in the FMCG industry: · Develop sales strategies: Create plans to increase market share and profitability, and implement and monitor mechanisms to ensure those plans are achieved · Manage staff: Recruit, train, and motivate staff · Monitor pricing: Check prices regularly to ensure products are sold at the highest possible recovery · Manage stock: Order and manage stock · Respond to customer demand: Deal with customer queries and complaints · Forecast sales: Forecast future sales · Understand competitors: Monitor competitor activities and demand supply scenarios · Create policies: Create policies and guidelines for channel partners, such as dealers, distributors, and stockists · Monitor market share: Track market share for individual outlets and regions · Design promotional schemes: Design promotional and incentive schemes to meet sales objectives
