Job Description : CHIEF RESEARCHA ND DEVELOPMENT OFFICER UK Role is open to National and International candidates with 20+ years experience The Chief Research and Development (R&D) Officer leads research for the adoption of new technology and equipment to improve the organisation's operations and business. He/She advises on advanced methods to design new food products or enhance processes for production capacity and capabilities. He/She approves the specifications of final products, packaging and processes to meet technical, quality and regulatory standards. He/She designs the technology and innovation roadmap and drives continuous improvement with strong knowledge in food science technology. He/She possesses a strong interest in new technology and advances in food science to deliver innovative and competitive solutions, and oversee all R&D projects. He/She is a strategic and creative thinker who shows excellent problem-solving and communication skills, and is able to network effectively. Build business cases for implementing new technologies in partnership with other enterprises. Develop and execute innovation and research roadmaps. Develop business cases for implementing new technologies. Drive improvements in conceptualisation of ideas to attract new markets. Drive technical innovations to improve products, processes or packaging. Evaluate benefits, trade-offs and impact of new technologies. Evaluate outcomes of new products and processes to deliver improved business results. Formulate innovation initiatives aligned to the organisation's vision, mission and values. Innovate organisational quality policies, food safety and regulatory requirements and manufacturing of new products. Lead innovation in new technologies for product innovation and production processes. Oversee modelling and implementation of manufacturing processes for new products. Set direction for enhancing business competitiveness in the development of new products.
