Job Description : PASTA PLANT MANAGER WEST AFRICA The Plant Manager assumes ultimate responsibility for the plant, providing leadership and directives that result in excellence in productivity while maintaining the well-being of all plant employees. Responsible for all manufacturing, purchasing and distribution operations as well as manufacturing support functions: engineering planning and maintenance. MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Ensures the Quality system is established, implemented and maintained to the current quality program standards. • Ability to apply advanced audit concepts and techniques in analyzing, operational procedures and draw conclusion forward. In addition to implement administrative policies and procedures. • Knowledge of production plans & procedures, maintain and develop the plans and targets to achieve annual improvements based on the company’s overall goals. • Collaborates with supervisors and other managers to develop the principals, strategies, and plans necessary to achieve continuous improvement in the plant. • Getting updates from managers on plant machinery and ensuring that any approved repairs and upgrades are being executed in a thorough and timely manner. • Working on specified projects, as assigned by the head of operations and be accountable for their completion. • Preparing and maintaining a budget and consistently checking financials for accuracy. • Interacting with clients and vendors in a professional manner to ensure total satisfaction • Identifying strengths and weaknesses in order to build and develop skill sets of employees. • Ensuring employees adhere to established guidelines to provide excellent product quality. • Plan, organize, and direct the manufacturing cost through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials, and capital. Assure attainment of business objectives productions schedules while insuring product stand that will exceed our customer’s expectations. • Implement manufacturing strategies and action plans to ensure that the plant supports the strategic initiatives. • Establish group and individual accountabilities throughout assigned departments for problem solving and cost reduction, both on a permanent and ad-hoc basis, depending on need. Encourage use of new techniques and focus on the fact based problem solving. • Improve manpower utilization with in exiting department and processes. Schedule stability that allows for maximum return on efficiencies • Manager spending against budge and in relation to changes in production volume. • Assure that collective bargaining agreements are effectively administrated that employee grievances are addressed in a timely fashion. • Work to established management practices through assigned areas which include employee’s positive involvement with opportunity for construction input and action. • Continually improve safety react by addressing both physical safety issues and employee safety attitude maintain and improve housekeeping in all Areas. • Maintain individual skills keeping up to date with latest production and production management concepts. Requirements: MINIMUM EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE • Minimum of five years manufacturing Plant Management experience. • Experience in project cost control, efficiency plans with exposure to risk analysis and management, • Strong leadership skills and ability to effectively assess situations and make appropriate decisions in a timely manner. • Ability to analyze skills of team members and recognize their strengths and areas of development in order to groom talent. • Strong people management skill. • Professionalism and dedication to excellence in customer care • Strategic planning, complex problem resolution and general management expertise. • Outstanding communication and presentation skills. • High level of interpersonal skills and integrity; solid team player. Ability to influence senior management, establish and maintain collaborative partnerships and provide thought leadership. • Ability to architect and drive change • Ability to lead in a global, matrixes environment • Analytical mindset and ability to understand and organize data. • Experience and full knowledge about ISO and HACCP procedures and guidelines MINIMUM QUALIFICATION • Minimum of a BA degree in an Engineering Field and/or Food Technology. • Minimum 15 years of experience in Pasta Plant or else of a similar scope with special strength in developing new products and quality standards for Pasta related products.
