Operations Manager

Job Description : Operations Manager (Crown Cork/Plastic Closure & Preforms) Location: DR Congo, Central Africa Operations Management: Oversee end-to-end operations of the crown cork, plastic closure, and preforms production facilities. Implement and monitor efficient workflows to ensure quality, timely production, and cost optimization. Develop and execute operational strategies aligned with company objectives. Production Planning & Control: Develop production schedules to meet customer demands and minimize downtime. Ensure optimal utilization of resources, including machinery, manpower, and raw materials. Quality Assurance & Compliance: Implement robust quality control processes to meet industry standards and client specifications. Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and legal regulations applicable in the region. Team Leadership & Development: Lead, train, and mentor a diverse team of production staff, supervisors, and support personnel. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability. Supply Chain & Inventory Management: Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to maintain adequate raw material inventory levels. Optimize logistics and storage of finished products to meet regional distribution needs. Technical & Process Improvement: Leverage expertise in crown cork and plastic closure manufacturing to identify areas for innovation. Implement modern manufacturing technologies and methodologies to enhance efficiency and output. Financial Oversight: Monitor operational budgets and ensure cost-effective practices. Drive initiatives to reduce wastage and improve profitability. Stakeholder Collaboration: Build strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and other stakeholders in Central Africa. Represent the company in negotiations and regional trade events. Qualifications & Experience Educational Background: CIPET/ Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Management, or a related field. Industry Experience: Proven track record of 15+ years in manufacturing operations, with specific expertise in crown cork, plastic closures, and preforms. International work experience, particularly in Central Africa or emerging markets, is highly preferred. Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of injection molding, blow molding, and metal stamping processes. Proficient in production management software and ERP systems. Skills & Competencies Leadership and team-building skills in multicultural environments. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Strong financial acumen and analytical mindset. Effective communication and negotiation skills in English (French knowledge is a plus).
