Job Description : INDUSTRIAL SECURITY DIRECTOR NIGERIA Directs, supervises, and participates in the various responsibilities of the Security Process Operations, including matters related to all types of IDs, permits toward achieving the department goals and to ensure the security of the premises and an excellent on-going relationship with local authorities. The incumbent in this position will perform under directions of the EHS & Security Director in the SPARK on 24/7 where access controls are applicable through physical manning, electronically and other protection drivers. Entrusted to ensure protection standards of SPARK at all company installations, facilities and population diversified in logistically, operationally, and functionally. Ensures that day-to-day business standards are met and that the shift is able to meet its deployment requirements. Ensures that all performance drivers specified in the SPARK Operating Procedures, Post Orders and Threat Levels are in place at all gates/posts. Implements the approved contingency plans based on assigned responsibilities. Conducts preliminary investigation of confidential and sensitive matters. Contributes to the formulation and implementation of the department strategy and plans as appropriate in order to achieve the department needs and objectives. Assists Director in preparing the business plans, operating plans, accountability reports and protection programs. Function Description: Ensures that Supervisors are conducting effective day-to-day planning and organization of the shift and give feedback on areas for improvement. Holds staff meetings on a regular basis to provide feedback, raise issues, share concerns, and delegate and prioritize workload in order to promote teamwork within the section. Review’s security report to ensure no security breaches occurred during the previous day. Liaises with local security authorities on a regular basis to share concerns and ensure the security of the SPARK and the area-at-large. Promotes on-the-job training schedules, development of working skills and sound operational experience. Checks security operations on all SPARK areas and facilities. Responds to actual incidents, emergencies, disasters, drills, and the threat levels within the assigned area of responsibility in accordance with the established procedures and action plans. Carries out security performance reviews for the shift. Conducts random inspections, within the shift, to check that Post Orders and Operating Procedures are adhered to at all times to enable high standards of security readiness. Carries out spot checks of actions within the shift to ensure that the shift can respond to incidents, emergencies, disasters, bomb threats and terrorist attacks. Supervises the security shifts to ensure that they are carried out in an efficient manner that ensures that the security of the premises is not compromised. Coordinates after-hour responses and actions with Government security agencies as required or until relieved of duty. Ensures that all of the employees are knowledgeable of the weapon hand-over/take-over procedures, load/unload, use of force and rules of engagement, in compliance with the Weapons Management Program and other applicable procedures. Carries out and ensures fair performance appraisal for subordinates and throughout the shift. Remains physically fit for task and set a positive example to the shift personnel. Checks the physical fitness levels of shift personnel and discuss any below acceptable performance criteria with the Superintendent. Ensures that all employees in the shift operations unit are well educated about the approved threat level system. Ensures the safety behaviours are adhered to by subordinates in accordance with the Company’s safety policies, procedures, and guidelines. Ensures that security surveillance is operational at 100% in order to have 24/7 monitoring of the premises. Carries out all the Leadership and Supervisory tasks as required by SPARK’s related job competencies. Performs other duties assigned by superiors. A bachelor's degree in Business Administration or equivalent. A minimum of 15 years of related experience preferred. Excellent command of oral and written English is required.
