General Manager

Job Description : GM MINING INDIA Support the Head, UG hard rock mechanized mining business - build the organization & provide leadership to the project teams for achieving the contractual & the mining division’s KPIs; - Responsible for P&L of the metal mining business. - Strategize and grow the metal (hard rock) mining business; - Add value to the Organization and the Client, while operating within the policy framework of the Business Division; - Practice and foster "safety first" culture across the business function. Responsibilities: Strategic / Operational: Establish and maintain the operation strategy and plan within the guidance of ERG Group strategy and budget Develop the implementation framework for the operation strategic plan Recommend and approve policies and procedures to enable implementation of strategic operation’s objectives Implement the overall operational plan Define short- and medium-term plans functions in collaboration with other departments Ensure that the strategic plan balances long term performance with short term production Lead and manage operational performance. Set and measure operational targets and determine areas of cost reduction, program improvement, or policy change Develop contingency plans to ensure that the strategic plan targets are achieved even in adverse conditions, considering operational risk mitigation measures Pro-active risk assessments and development of contingency plans Continuous Improvement and Health and Safety: Drive the continuous improvement of operations in tight collaboration with the Technical, Projects and Support department Identify and recommend initiatives aimed at eliminating waste, improve productivity and reduce operating costs within scope. Support and participate in sub-functional/ Departmental change. Implement successful change initiatives, plan and ensure optimal resource utilization within designated area Budget: Develop and manage the Operation budget Oversee, review and coordinate annual budgets and quarterly forecastsincluding: – Communicating instructions and developing timelines for the site Regional consolidation of budget and forecasts for production and costs Preparing and reviewing presentations to the Executive Management Committee Ensures that the operation meets its production budget People Management / Development: Allocate resources wisely to ensure most effective use of skills and material are available to achieve the expected business performance, including the development of skills Lead, strengthen and develop the operations team Set and maintain a culture of excellence by ensuring appropriate best practices, systems, processes and technologies are in place to enable and optimization of work Requirements: Qualifications and Skills B degree in Mining Engineering or B Tech diploma in mining Blasting & mine managers certificate Mine Manager Certificate of Competency Experience managing Contractors in various roles within Mining Operations 4 years General Management experience 12-15 years of mining working experience (5 years as Mine Manager; 3 years as Mine Overseer) Salary 40 to 45 lakh
