General Manager Engineering and Manufacturing

Job Description : GM ENGINEERING AND MANUFACTURING AUSTRALIA MAK Water, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Manager for their Engineering & Manufacturing division. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to lead and innovate within a dynamic team, driving the design, procurement, manufacturing, testing and commissioning of capital projects. As the General Manager for Engineering & Manufacturing at MAK Water, your primary function will be to lead the engineering and manufacturing teams through various stages of capital projects. You will be directly accountable for the safety of your team and the financial performance of all projects. Your role will involve developing strong relationships with both clients and suppliers, ensuring project delivery meets time, budget, and specification requirements. As part of the executive team, you will participate in corporate management planning processes, monitor performance against budgets, and work closely with the sales team to promote and expand the technical capabilities of the business. • Implement MAK Water’s Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality plans. • Develop strong relationships with existing clients and suppliers. • Deliver projects on time, on budget and to specification. • Participate constructively as a member of the executive team. • Undertake regular performance reviews with the team and develop individual plans. • Monitor and manage performance against budget. • Work with sales team to promote and expand technical capability of the business. The ideal candidate for this General Manager position will bring a wealth of experience in both engineering and management. You will have a strong focus on safety, with an understanding of safety management systems. Your ability to manage personnel effectively within a team environment will be crucial to your success in this role. Excellent oral presentation skills are required, along with the ability to develop strong relationships with clients. Your well-developed organisational and time management skills will enable you to meet project deadlines while maintaining high standards of work. • Engineering qualification (mechanical preferred) with experience in design, and fabrication • Management qualification (MBA/Diploma in management etc.) would be highly desired. • Safety focus and understanding of safety management systems
