Chief Operating Officer

Job Description : COO - Projects Reporting to : Directors Experience : 20 -25 Yrs Age : 45 -55 Yrs Industry : Steel / Metal / Cement Manufacturing Qualification : - BE/B.Tech (Mechanical Engineering) / Civil Engineering - Certification in Project Management shall be an added advantage. Prior Exposure : A proven track record of handling Green Field Project as Head taking accountability for end to end Project Life Cycle Job Requirements : - Involved in planning, directing, and coordinating activities of designated project to ensure that completion of project is accomplished within prescribed time frame and financial parameters. - Overall in-charge for Reviewing, Budgeting, Cost Controls and Approvals. - Should be able to provide Leadership in building a high-performance culture, able to build morale and commitments to goals and objectives. Role and Responsibilities : - Review project proposal or plan to determine time frame, financial limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing Manpower requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project. - Provide project status reports regarding project milestones, dependencies, risks, and project results to senior leadership - Implement a CAPEX project portfolio management methodology to ensure a strong decision process and to coordinate project evaluation, prioritization and review through the different company functions. - Collaborates with executive leadership to develop and meet company goals while supplying expertise and guidance on operations projects and systems. - Establishes, communicates, and implements operations-related policies, practices, standards, and security measures to ensure effective and consistent support and execution. - Reviews and approves cost-control reports, cost estimates, and staffing requirements for projects. - Accountable for Costing and Budgeting, should develop and implement cost saving measures, contribute to profits and revenue, conserve organizational resources. - Reviews status reports prepared by Project Managers and modifies schedules or plans as required. - Prepares project reports for management, client, or others. - Coordinates project activities with activities of government regulatory or other governmental agencies. - Research, design, run and test processes to optimize productivity and workflo - Maintain Process Maps, SOPs, and project plans to execute on critical business initiatives - Maintain a high profile on matters of environmental protection and community and employee welfare related to the industry. - Maintain a direct involvement in current and future project developments that are related to the industry, aimed at improving methods, equipment performance and quality of product. Project Management : Planning, estimating & scheduling projects involving detailed engineering activities, finalization of requirements and specifications. Supervising the analysis of results / data & preparing project reports. Implementation of Safe work practices during Project Implementation Vendor Management : - Developing and sustaining long-standing relationships with company-approved vendors. - Establishing standards by which to assess the performance of approved vendors - Conducting research on available vendors to determine which vendors offer the best pricing and product quality. Stake Holder Management : - Manage project expectations with external and internal stakeholders - Run project status meetings, daily stand-ups, site specific project meetings and retrospective meetings - Address all issues related to Land & Environment - Build rapport with Local Administration & Opinion Leaders Functional Skills : - Technology & Vendor selection - Flow sheet development - Equipment selection for the project - Contract Management - Thorough understanding about Statutory Clearance Leadership skills : - Result Orientation - Passion for excellence - Interpersonal effectiveness - Team Management Only Green Field experience with min 5 yrs experience is required.
