Job Description : BUSINESS HEAD POWER ELECTRONICS EAST ARICA This leadership position is responsible for providing commercial, people, and organizational leadership within a well-established and continually evolving design house. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in EV-related power electronic products and demonstrate strong commercial acumen. With over 15 years of hands-on experience in designing power electronics, including on-board chargers (OBC), DC-DC converters, and inverters, the candidate will have proven leadership in both commercial strategy and team management. A solid understanding of the current and future challenges in the EV and green technology sectors is essential. The role involves domestic and international travel within and outside the Group and demands the highest ethical standards and exemplary behavior in all business and people interactions. Leadership and Team Management: Lead the Power Electronics engineering team in designing, developing, and optimizing products such as inverters, DC-DC converters, motor controllers, and energy storage systems. Define engineering strategies aligned with company's vision and emerging trends in automotive and EV technologies. Build and mentor a high-performing team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence. Product Design & Development: Oversee the end-to-end development of power electronics systems, focusing on high-performance, cost-effective, and scalable solutions. Ensure compliance with automotive industry standards such as ISO 26262, IEC 61800, and other relevant functional safety requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, production, quality, supply chain) to ensure seamless integration and execution of projects from concept to production. Project Management: Lead and manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery, cost control, and performance alignment with customer specifications. Develop project plans, allocate resources, and provide regular progress updates to senior management and stakeholders. Anticipate and mitigate risks through strategic planning and problem-solving approaches. Innovation and Research: Drive innovation in power electronis by exploring new technologies (e.g., SiC/GaN semiconductors, wide bandgap devices) to improve system performance, efficiency, and reliability. Initiate and oversee R&D initiatives to expand the product portfolio, focusing on EV applications and emerging automotive technologies. Maintain strong relationships with research institutions, industry bodies, and technical partners to stay at the forefront of technological developments. Quality & Compliance: Ensure all designs meet stringent automotive quality standards, including ISO, UL, and RoHS certifications. Lead rigorous validation and testing processes to ensure product reliability, longevity, and compliance with global automotive standards. Implement continuous improvement initiatives and failure analysis to maintain high-quality standards across the product lifecycle. Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with product management, sales, and customer support teams to understand market needs and ensure engineering solutions meet customer requirements. Serve as a key technical representative in client meetings and presentations, providing expert guidance and addressing technical challenges. Collaborate with supply chain teams to identify and engage with suppliers of critical components (e.g., semiconductors, magnetics, thermal solutions). Cost Optimization & Vendor Management: Identify opportunities for cost savings through design optimization, strategic sourcing, and value engineering. Collaborate with procurement and vendor teams to ensure the availability of high-quality components at competitive prices. Evaluate and approve new suppliers and manufacturing partners to maintain product quality and supply chain efficiency. Bachelor's or Masters degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related field (PhD is a plus). Minimum of 15 years of experience in power electronics engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, ideally in the automotive industry. Strong expertise in designing and developing power electronics systems for electric vehicles, including DC-DC converters, inverters, and motor controllers. Familiarity with key automotive industry standards such as ISO 26262, IEC 61800, and other safety and quality standards. Hands-on experience with power electronics design tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink, Altium, Cadence) and Mathematical modeling,simulation software. Proven ability to lead and manage multidisciplinary engineering teams, fostering a culture of technical innovation and continuous improvement. Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage complex, high-stakes projects within time and budget constraints. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
