Job Description : PLANT HEAD FOOD INDUSTRY EAST AFRICA - Oversee daily manufacturing operations, ensuring adherence to production schedules and efficiency targets. - Develop and implement manufacturing strategies to optimize productivity, reduce costs, and improve product quality. - Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies. - Manage inventory levels to meet production demands without overstocking. Leadership & Team Management: - Lead, mentor, and develop a team of production managers, engineers, and other plant personnel. - Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement. - Conduct performance reviews, set objectives, and identify training needs to enhance team capabilities. Process Improvement: - Identify opportunities for process enhancements and implement lean manufacturing principles to eliminate waste. - Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, quality, and safety across the plant. - Collaborate with R&D and quality teams to ensure seamless integration of new products and processes. Budgeting & Cost Control: - Develop and manage the plant's operational budget, ensuring financial performance aligns with corporate goals. - Monitor and control manufacturing costs, including labor, materials, and overhead. - Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising on quality or safety. Quality & Safety Management: - Ensure all production activities meet quality standards and customer specifications. - Promote and enforce a strong safety culture, ensuring all safety protocols are followed. - Investigate and resolve any quality or safety issues, implementing corrective actions as necessary. Strategic Planning: - Collaborate with senior management to develop long-term manufacturing strategies aligned with business goals. - Evaluate market trends, technological advancements, and industry best practices to maintain competitive advantage. - Plan and oversee plant expansions, equipment upgrades, and capacity increases as needed. Qualifications & Skills: - Proven experience in a senior manufacturing role within a large-scale plant, preferably in [Industry]. - Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate large teams. - In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, production planning, and quality control. - Expertise in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies. - Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on root cause analysis and corrective actions. - Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, cost control, and resource allocation. - Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, from plant floor staff to senior executives.
