Job Description : General Manager (GM) of Merchandising for an Apparel Retail MNC in Dubai Salary Range USD 10000+Expat Benefits (Free Acco+Taxfree+Conveyance) This is a crucial role in overseeing and managing the entire merchandising process within the company. This role focuses on the strategic planning, selection, procurement, and management of apparel products that align with market trends and consumer demand. Candidates working in Buying House/ Brands, Liaison ,etc .Here are the key aspects and responsibilities of such a role: Key Responsibilities: 1. Strategic Planning & Leadership Merchandise Strategy: Develop and execute the long-term merchandising strategy, taking into account regional trends, consumer preferences, and company objectives. Team Leadership: Lead a team of buyers, planners, merchandisers, and other key personnel. Provide guidance and mentorship to ensure team members meet sales, stock, and other KPIs. Vendor Relationships: Establish and maintain strong partnerships with suppliers, manufacturers, and other external partners. Negotiate pricing, lead times, and delivery schedules to ensure products are delivered on time and within quality standards. 2. Product Selection & Assortment Curate Collections: Oversee the selection and buying process for apparel collections, ensuring the product range appeals to the target market and fits with seasonal trends. The Company is sourcing mainly from Indian Vendors. Product Pricing: Set competitive and profitable pricing strategies, balancing cost with market demand and quality to achieve optimum profitability. Innovation: Introduce fresh and innovative styles to maintain differentiation from competitors, aligning with global and regional fashion trends. 3. Vendor Management Forecasting & Demand Planning: Collaborate with buying and planning teams to ensure product availability across both physical and online stores. Forecast demand, manage inventory levels, and implement strategies to prevent stockouts or overstocking. Supply Chain Coordination: Ensure seamless coordination between vendors, logistics, and internal teams to ensure smooth procurement and product delivery. 4. Financial Management Budgeting & Profitability: Develop and manage the merchandising budget, ensuring the department adheres to financial targets and maximizes profitability. P&L Ownership: Take full responsibility for the P&L of the merchandising department, analyzing performance, adjusting strategies as needed, and working on margin improvement initiatives.
