Job Description : Import Manager Location: Isolo, Lagos, Nigeria Industry: FMCG preferred (experience in Nigeria market is a must) Reporting To: HOD (Chinese National) Years of Experience: 12-15 years Salary: $3,000 - $4,000 per month (inclusive of Basic + KPI) - Paid Quarterly Role Overview: The Import Manager will oversee all aspects of imports, including customs, port operations, and clearance processes. This role requires extensive knowledge of Nigerian customs regulations and logistics, along with recent experience in the Nigerian market. The candidate will lead a well-established team of local Nigerian talent and ensure seamless import operations aligned with organizational goals. Key Responsibilities: 1. Customs & Clearance: o Manage import documentation, customs clearance processes, and compliance with Nigerian laws. o Coordinate with local authorities and ensure timely clearance of shipments from ports. 2. Team Management: o Supervise and mentor a local team, ensuring operational efficiency and adherence to organizational standards. o Collaborate with the HOD to set and achieve departmental goals. 3. Stakeholder Coordination: o Liaise with suppliers, freight forwarders, and other stakeholders to ensure efficient logistics. o Maintain strong relationships with regulatory bodies and government agencies. 4. Reporting & Analysis: o Prepare regular reports on import activities, cost analysis, and process improvements. o Monitor KPIs and ensure they align with quarterly and annual business objectives. 5. Compliance: o Ensure compliance with local and international trade laws. o Maintain updated records of regulatory changes affecting imports. Requirements: · Experience: 12-15 years in import management, with hands-on experience in customs, ports, and clearance processes. · Nigeria Market: Recent experience in Nigeria is mandatory. · Age: Mid-40s preferred. · Nationality: Any (excluding local Nigerians and Pakistanis). · Education: Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field. · Skills: Strong understanding of Nigerian customs regulations, excellent leadership, and communication skills. Compensation & Benefits: 1. Salary & Allowances: o $3,000 - $4,000 per month (inclusive of Basic + KPI, paid quarterly). o Local allowance: 221k per month (subject to annual review in January 2024). 2. Annual Benefits: o Annual bonus during Diwali and annual salary review as per company policy. o Paid leave with an economy-class ticket to Mumbai/Delhi/Chennai/Kolkata/Bangalore. 3. Probation Terms: o 50% salary during probation (balance released upon probation completion). o Visa deposit of INR 50k refunded after probation completion. Working Conditions: · Work Schedule: o Monday to Friday: 8 AM 5 PM. o Saturday: 9 AM – 2 PM. · Joining Time: o Candidates must be able to join within one month. · Other Requirements: o Valid passport (minimum 1-year validity). o Valid yellow fever card and COVID-19 double vaccination certificate.
