Job Description : Chief Executive Officer - European Grocery Chain - Middle East: specifically looking for grocery/supermarket leader who has led premium product grocery format stores. This is a growth role to open 40+ large format premium stores by 2027. CEO Job Description for a Grocery Supermarket Chain (60 Stores) The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will lead and oversee all aspects of a 60-store grocery supermarket business. The CEO will provide strategic direction, operational oversight, and financial stewardship to ensure sustainable growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction. This position requires a dynamic disruptive leader with a proven track record grocery with operational efficiency, and strategic planning solid merchandising and supply chain exposure. Key Responsibilities 1. Strategic Leadership Develop and execute the company's vision, mission, and strategic goals. Identify growth opportunities, including market expansion, new store openings, and acquisitions. Ensure alignment of operations with long-term business objectives. 2. Operational Management Oversee day-to-day operations across all 60 stores, ensuring efficiency and consistency. Implement standardized processes and best practices to drive productivity and reduce costs. Monitor supply chain, inventory management, and merchandising strategies to optimize performance. 3. Financial Oversight Manage the company's financial performance, including revenue, profitability, and cost control. Focus on merchandising, supply chain and product portfolio and suppliers. Prepare and present budgets, forecasts, and performance reports to the board of directors. Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and internal policies. 4. Customer and Market Focus Ensure superior customer service and a consistent shopping experience across all locations. Monitor market trends, customer preferences, and competitor activities to inform decision-making. Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, and community partners. Experience: 20+ years of senior leadership experience in the retail or supermarket industry, with a proven track record of managing multi-location operations. Must have operated across Europe, ASIA or North Americas with brands like Waitrose & Partners Marks and Spencer Tesco Loblaw Companies Limited Sobeys Lidl in Germany ALDI SÜD Demonstrated success in driving revenue growth, profitability, and operational excellence. Strong leadership and decision-making abilities. Financial acumen and analytical skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic business environment. Performance Metrics Achievement of revenue, profit, and growth targets. Improvement in operational efficiency and cost reduction
