Job Description : CFO PAPUA NEW GUYINEA FOR TRADING CO The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be responsible for the strategic management and allocation of the organisation’s financial resources. They will drive both operational and financial improvements, while establishing and monitoring financial policies and procedures. Additionally, the CFO will manage fiscal reporting and internal controls, ensuring data security by recommending and implementing technology enhancements in IT operations and infrastructure. Summary of Duties and Responsibilities Undertakes strategic planning and formulation and development of the annual budget. Leads the successful delivery of the financial aspects of the strategic plan and provides meaningful analyses and perspectives. Ensures the establishment and implementation of financial as well as audit policies and procedures. Undertakes and oversees improvement initiatives towards positive operational and financial outcomes. Provides financial leadership to the Board and Executive Team, including risk management for new product development Establishes budgeting systems and oversees the budgeting process, including the monitoring of expenditures and the reporting of variances. Ensures that the budget and financial performance targets for the organisation are achieved. Oversees the management and coordination of all fiscal reporting activities for the organisation. Ensures compliance with performance monitoring guidelines and other reporting requirements. Develops and maintain systems of internal controls to safeguard the organisation’s financial assets. Directs IT operations, infrastructure, applications development, and business process re-engineering. Recommends and implements technology improvements, ensuring data security and compliance with cybersecurity policies. Requirements A Masters’ degree in Finance or Accounting or a recognised professional accounting qualification. A minimum of 20 years’ proven experience of which 10 at a senior executive level. A member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of any such recognized board Experience with Financial Reporting and Compliance. Experience managing information systems. Executive leadership skills and a strategic thinker with strong business acumen. Ability to understand and articulate the strategic value of financial management processes. Ability to interpret financial data and make informed strategic decisions. Competent in identifying financial risks and developing strategies to mitigate them. In-depth knowledge of best practices and trends in audit and financial management. Proficient in financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting and analysis. Competent with presenting financial data and insights to stakeholders in an understandable manner. Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills. Familiarity with government policy and trends in the APAC region would be useful. Proficient in the use of MS applications and experience with financial software, financial analytics tools and data visualization software.
