Job Description : SECTION HEAD FLEXO MACHINES KENYA 10+ years experience Job Summary: The Section Head will oversee and manage the operations of the Flexo machines in the flexible packaging production line. This role involves ensuring optimal machine performance, maintaining quality standards, managing the team, and meeting production targets efficiently. The Section Head will also be responsible for implementing continuous improvement initiatives and ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and maintenance protocols. Key Responsibilities: Production Management: Oversee day-to-day operations of the Flexo machines, ensuring production targets are met. Plan and allocate resources, including manpower, materials, and machine schedules. Monitor production parameters to ensure consistency in output quality. Troubleshoot production issues and minimize downtime. Quality Assurance: Ensure products meet required quality standards as per customer specifications. Conduct periodic quality checks during and after production. Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to resolve quality concerns. Traceability to be maintained from process to process (Printing , slitting, bagmaking & FG) Team Leadership: Supervise and manage a team of machine operators, assistant Operators, general workers and supervisors in your team. Provide training and development opportunities for team members to enhance skills. Conduct performance evaluations and address team-related concerns. Machine Maintenance: Coordinate with the maintenance team to ensure timely preventive and corrective maintenance of Flexo machines. Monitor machine performance and maintain operational logs. Recommend upgrades or adjustments to improve machine efficiency. Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE): Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies on the shop floor. Conduct safety drills and briefings for the team. Address any safety concerns and ensure a hazard-free work environment. Process Improvement: Identify areas for process optimization to improve production efficiency. Implement lean manufacturing principles and cost-saving measures. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to introduce new technologies or methods. Requirements:(Education and Experience) Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Management, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a flexible packaging company, preferably operating or supervising Miraflex machines from Windmller & Hlscher. Proven experience in team management and production planning. Diploma in Printing technology with 10 years experience on the same field. Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of Miraflex printing technology and flexible packaging production. Strong understanding of machine operations, troubleshooting, and maintenance. Familiarity with quality standards for flexible packaging (e.g., ISO, BRC). Knowledge on Inks will be an added advantage Must know surface & reverse jobs with application of inserter ( 8 color printed roll must come in the unwinder and reprint on the other side same 8 color job by the help of auto inserter) Good knowledge on NCPU ink, PU ink, Polyamide ink, deep freezer inks. Must have knowledge on latest security features on the flexible packaging for the counterfeit. Soft Skills: Excellent leadership and team management abilities. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Achievement of production targets and timelines. Machine uptime and efficiency. Reduction in waste and defects. Compliance with safety and quality standards.
