Tool Room Technician

Job Description : Tool Room Technician (TRT) Location: Nigeria. Reports To: Technical Director Overview The TRTs position & primary role is to provide Technical Support to existing Injection Moulding processes including but not limited to; process repairs & maintenance, improvements, cost reduction activities, & equipment replacement. The person will be responsible for designing, modifying, repairing & developing mould as per companys requirements. The individual will provide support to all purchase & design department to develop tools for injection moulding equipment & perform root cause analysis for all injection moulding. This is Bachelor Status position Desired Skills & Experience · Associates Degree in a technical discipline or related field with 10+ years manufacturing experience with at least 5 years experience in injection moulding. · Extensive experience & expertise on Plastic shaping, injection moulding tooling design. · Knowledge of construction of injection moulding machines, tools & removal technique. · General knowledge of 2D drafting & 3D modeling & analysis · High level of attention to detail & mechanical aptitude · Ability to understand & discuss issues at a technical level & the ability to prepare detailed Technical Reports. · Positive attitude & desire to learn & work in a project team environment. · Good analytical & problem-solving skills. · Basic computer knowledge; use of MS Office Suite Key Responsibilities · Design & Improve · To review 2D/3D solid mould designs. · Assist with the design, development, installation & validation qualification of moulding equipment. · Collaborate with production team for testing & evaluation of moulds. · Design plastics or injection-mould fabrication processes. · Create & improve injection-mould machinery. Ensure quality output of moulded components. · Establish the parameters for an optimal moulding environment. · Repair & Maintenance · Provide support for daily operations & maintenance of established Injection Moulding processes. · Check plastic parts, insert moulded parts & assemblies. · To modify, repair the existing moulds as per requirement by Processing engineer · Analyze quality control & correct flaws , mould flow & stress/fatigue analysis on plastics. · Prepare mould-filling simulations. · Having ability to handle round shape moulds up to 30 liter capacity for re-centering by welding & re machining the bearing surface of the moulds cavity & punch.
