Financial Controller

Job Description : FC DUBAI The Financial Controller will be responsible for overseeing the company’s financial reporting, accounting processes, internal controls, and financial analysis. This role will ensure the integrity of financial statements, lead budgeting and forecasting processes, and provide strategic financial insights to senior management. Financial Reporting and Accounting: Oversee the daily accounting process of the Financial Accountant including general ledger management, journal postings, account reconciliations, and expenses management. Liaise with the Risk team to ensure the appropriate accounting of trading-related balances – including physical and financial derivatives. Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements/statutory accounts in line with relevant accounting standards (IFRS). Manage the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial closing processes, ensuring all entries are accurate and complete. Manage the liaison with external consultants on complex technical accounting judgments. Implement and maintain internal controls – including reconciliation controls, journal approvals, expense and non-trading payment approvals, etc. – to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial information. Own the maintenance of the Company's accounting policy, ensuring continued compliance with relevant financial regulations and accounting standards (IFRS). Manage required financial submissions to the Group and other authorities. Lead the annual external audit process, coordinating with auditors to provide required documentation and address any findings. Manage the relationship with the outsourced tax service provider to support the preparation of tax returns and ensure tax compliance. Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the development of the annual budget, working closely with department heads to ensure alignment with strategic objectives. Prepare and update financial forecasts on a regular basis, providing insights into future cash flow, revenue, and expense trends. Conduct variance analysis, comparing actual results to budget and forecast, and providing explanations for significant differences. Work with the FP&A team to develop long-term financial plans and support strategic decision-making. Strategic Financial Analysis: Contribute to the development of the company’s financial strategy. Provide in-depth financial analysis and insights to senior management to support decision-making, new business analysis and strategic planning. Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend strategies to improve profitability and financial performance. Identify financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring the company’s financial stability. Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, including the Financial Accountant and FP&A Analyst, ensuring high performance and professional growth. Work closely with other departments to provide financial insights and support business initiatives. Continuously seek ways to improve finance processes, systems, and reporting capabilities to increase efficiency and accuracy.
