Procurement Head 

Job Description : MINING PROCUREMENT HEAD ALASKA CANADA Role is open to candidates globally willing to work remote responsible for leading the entire procurement strategy within a mining operation, overseeing the sourcing, negotiation, and management of all materials and services needed for mining activities, ensuring cost-effective procurement while maintaining quality standards and compliance with industry regulations, by developing and executing strategic sourcing plans, managing supplier relationships, and identifying cost-saving opportunities across the mining supply chain; requiring a deep understanding of the mining industry, procurement best practices, and strong leadership skills to manage a team of procurement professionals. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Sourcing: Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans for critical mining materials (e.g., explosives, equipment parts, chemicals, consumables). Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, conducting thorough due diligence on quality, reliability, and cost competitiveness. Negotiate favorable contracts with key suppliers, leveraging volume discounts and ensuring optimal pricing. Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, fostering collaboration and driving continuous improvement. Monitor supplier performance against contractual agreements, including quality standards, delivery timelines, and cost metrics. Conduct regular supplier reviews and performance evaluations to identify areas for improvement. Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives through price negotiations, alternative sourcing options, and value engineering. Analyze market trends and price fluctuations to proactively manage procurement costs. Implement cost-reduction strategies across the procurement lifecycle, including inventory optimization. Manage the entire procurement process from requisition to delivery, ensuring timely and accurate order placement. Oversee the procurement team, assigning tasks, providing training, and coaching staff on best practices. Monitor and resolve procurement-related issues, including supplier delays, quality discrepancies, and contract disputes. Identify and mitigate potential supply chain risks, including geopolitical instability, natural disasters, and price volatility. Develop contingency plans to address supply disruptions and ensure operational continuity. Ensure adherence to all relevant company policies, procurement regulations, and safety standards. Monitor compliance with environmental and sustainability guidelines in procurement activities. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field. Extensive experience in mining procurement, with a proven track record of cost reduction and strategic sourcing. Strong understanding of mining operations, equipment, and materials. Proficiency in data analysis and reporting to identify trends and inform procurement decisions
