Job Description : SECURITY MANAGER Location: Yaouré Gold Mine, Côte d'Ivoire Salary: Attractive package on offer The Company Perseus Mining Limited is a West African gold explorer, developer and gold producer. The Company is listed on both the ASX and TSX. The Perseus Group operates the Edikan Gold Mine in Ghana, the Sissingué Gold Mine and Yaouré development in Côte d'Ivoire. Perseus Mining Yaouré SA is part of the Australian based Perseus Mining Limited Group. The Yaouré Gold Mine, located near Yamassoukro in Côte d’Ivoire is currently under construction, first gold forecasted for December 2020. During operations the total workforce will consist of approximately 880 people, including contractors. The mine is forecast to move and process around 20 mtpa of ore and waste from multiple pits, the Yaouré processing facility has been designed as a 3.3 mtpa processing facility and is capable of producing at a rate of 215,000oz gold per annum. As a result, we are seeking Expressions of Interest from experienced professionals. The Security Manager will report to the General Manager, working on a 6 weeks on 3 weeks off FIFO roster. The Security Manager will play a crucial part in the delivery of the Yaoure Gold Project. The role of the Security Manager is to protect PYS staff, locations and physical assets from harm, damage and loss. PYS’s mine site and lease areas, buildings and properties are opportunities for unintended and deliberate physical security breaches that could lead to theft, fraud or damage which can impact business profitability. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: • Managing personnel and asset security of PMY Operations; • Relationship building with key PMY stakeholders, including government and foreign embassy entities; • Aligning security activities with PMY Security Management Plan; • Demonstrating an understanding of, and commitment to, Perseus Core Values; • Develop PMY Vulnerability Assessment and mitigation strategies; • Comply with and maintain Perseus Yaoure Security and safety standards; • Prepare thorough hand over notes and briefing to his/her designate prior to rotational leave; • Represent the Security Department on PMY meetings and discussions; • Ensuring that daily meeting amongst Security team is conducted; • Committed to develop and train national members of the Security team; • Act as focal point for all security related matters or concerns; • Design and implement a cost-effective drone surveillance program; • Adherence with Perseus Security Audit program objectives; • Overseeing Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights (VPSHR) training and adherence within the Security Team. University degree or higher education courses in Security/Risk Management, Justice & Criminology International Law, Military Studies, etc.); • Must have Military or law enforcement (LE) training background, and, or national and international security system management; • Required clean criminal background and exemplary military/ LE records; • Good communication skills and fluency in English & French; • Transfer leadership experience either through military status, previous security team Management, or previous security senior supervisory experience; • Required previous experience in Africa with good understanding of French institutional and legal system requirements; • Maintain duty of care obligations and promotion of effective safety systems for all employees and contractors, including responsibility for correcting unsafe acts. Desirable: • Certification and membership of national or international security associations/institutions • Dynamic, self-motivated and innovative person; • Ability to plan, organize, coordinate and implement security operations; • Identifies priority activities and assignments and places team agenda before personal ones.
