Job Description : GM ZIMBABWE A leading Agri company is in the market for a General Manager to direct and control the operations in Zimbabwe and provide strategic leadership for the country. The role will focus on implementing strategic plans and objectives, maintaining an open dialogue with stakeholders, and driving organizational success to create a long-term competitive advantage. Salary: Negotiable Responsibilities: Zimbabwe participates in the development of and takes accountability for the delivery of the strategy – focusing mainly on Zimbabwe and its associated operations. Provide strategic guidance in developing and executing business strategies to achieve short and long-term organizational goals for the Zimbabwe Agriculture division. Lead, coach, and manage people and influence direct and indirect reports to achieve the goals of the division. Provide strategic and operational leadership to ensure the implementation of strategies that enhance employee performance and engagement, and which foster the desired culture change. Assess and report on the operational key performance indicators against desired outcomes detailed in the division’s strategic plans. Liaise with government and other key stakeholders about influencing the advancement of agriculture in the country. Engage with financial institutions to set up appropriate financial transactions on specific deals. Overseeing and actively directing the division’s business operations, financial performance, future investments (including capex), and new ventures. Work with Agriculture Exco, divisional MDs, as well as senior leadership to develop strategically aligned annual plans, goals, budgets, and projections. Influence direct and indirect reports to achieve the goals of through motivating people, coaching, team building, delegating, rewarding, managing change, handling conflict, dealing with poor performance, and influencing organizational culture. Pro-active assessing, managing, and resolving problematic developments and situations. Embody and drive the values to drive desired behavior and ensure alignment across the operational units, regions, and entities. Continuously assess required financial resources. Actively manage Budget, Financial Performance, and Expenses. Maintaining positive and trust-based relations with business partners, key stakeholders and authorities plays a critical role in being successful in this role. Develop and execute strategy aligned with standards in Safety, Environment, and Quality. Legal Responsibility and Management of Safety, Risk and Environmental Compliance. Identify total business risks and advise relevant Exco members thereof. Ensure the implementation of necessary measures to control risk. Ensure compliance under legislative requirements about all aspects of the business. Ensure effective governance and risk management practices are maintained. Key Skills: A minimum of 5 years’ senior management level experience 5 years experience in manufacturing, chemical, and/or agricultural environment with at least Sound Financial knowledge with specific reference to the management of FOREX Knowledge of the agriculture industry landscape and practices Qualifications: Degree in Business Administration or related qualification Post Graduate diploma
